Absolutely Thrilled!

22 March 2011

What a wonderful day. It started out with an appearance on TV3 with my great buddies on Ireland AM, then did a tour of the M50 south shops and signed masses of Love and Marriage and met loads of fans too and have just heard that it's gone straight to No 1 for overall sales in the bestseller list here at home, after only three days in the shops, and it's No 11 in the hardback chart in UK.

So a big, big thank you to all my readers and my publishers and to Dec, Helen, Simon, Eamonn and the gang here. It makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Patricia - I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to meet you properly last night. It was a great evening - if a little hard on the feet - and I thoroughly enjoyed your interview.

I thought it was a lovely mix of the sensible and the celebratory about all things to do with writing. Your own personal warmth and humour were greatly in evidence and appreciated by the audience and the assembled authors alike.

    With warmest wishes,

    Catherine

Am almost finished Love and Marriage and thoroughly enjoying it. My husband stole it (while I was reading it) and he got totally into it (though if he knew I was telling this to the World he would be livid). I think your portrayal of Melissa and Anorexia is very sensitive and touching (and sad too). You write like someone with first hand experience of it but in a way you are like that about a lot of your characters. I cannot believe that I was crying when the grandfather went to visit Melissa in the hospital!

I finished over breakfast this morning at the page starting "Christmas Day", and I cannot wait to see how it turns out. Thanks for a great book - I missed Forgive and Forget, though I have probably read all your books except that one! Keep up the good work.

Thank you Patricia for Love & Marriage" What a great read to finish the trilogy. I got to the end of Happy Ever After and was on a plane en route from Portugal. I think the other passengers thought I'd gone slightly mad when I was calling across the aisle to my daughter "No, that can't be the end of the story!!!!" So a huge thanks for a brilliant ending. Keep up the good work & I can't wait fot the next book.

Hi Patricia, I'm just wondering are you making any appearances around the west of Ireland in the coming months, as my wife Evelyn was to go to your recent visit in corrandulla county Galway but didn't make it because of me.I would really like to make it up the her as she is quite upset that she missed an opportunity to meet you. Thanks for giving her hours of enjoyment reading your books.

    Yours Sincerely, Anthony Trill

Have just read Happy Ever After and now reading Coming Home. The edition I have is a lovely small book with a Christmas wreath on the front door and snow on the ground. I really enjoyed Happy Ever After and wondering will you do a third book on that series as I really like the characters and would like to think that Judith goes from strength to strength and perhaps become friends with Debbie. Love Lilly. What will become of Melissa and her eating disorder? I am so happy I have found your books Patricia. I like many Irish authors and also Joanne Trollope and so miss Rosamund Pilcher. I look forward to reading many more of your books. I live in Australia but come from Scotland.
