By day, I'm generally in the Central Criminal Court, preferably on the bench beside the accused, and directly opposite the jury. It's the best place to see if the defendant's knee is jiggling, or any member of the jury yawning, and how the judge is faring. There is no sound more electrifying than that of a juror knocking on the door to signal the verdict's in! Mostly they just want a cigarette break though...
By night, I'm mostly on the phone to cops, criminals, or victims, and afterwards trying to persuade my other half to stick on an old episode of Cracker or Prime Suspect.
