Tip 106 - chuck out the tents
26 May 2009
I like this tip from Marisa Peer, a woman who really understands how weight management starts in the brain and not in the fridge. Once you get to your goal weight, she advises, throw away your fat clothes. Someone who "keeps their bigger clothes at the back of the cupboard is the equivalent of an alcoholic who keeps a bottle of whisky in their drinks cabinet, 'just in case'. It's a safety net that may encourage them back to their old ways." Hear hear, Peer. And it also fits nicely with my thoughts on wardrobe feng shui. If you have a clear view, on a daily basis, of clothes which suit you and fit you and love you, uncluttered by hanger upon hanger of useless and unedifying ensembles, you're in a far better position to Dress Thin.

Hi Mimi,
Did that! A few weeks ago I chucked tons of rubbish clothes, loads to the charity shop and some in the bin (they were in a right state!). Then went to buy two, not one but TWO! wrap dressed designed by Anna Scholz, and got myself a shrug, for good measure. Dress no. 1, got a 25% discount on a personal shopping sale. Dress two, even better, got 50% on the regular sales. Felt smug.
Passed the shop today and found that all the Anna Scholtzes are being reduced to 70% off!
Feel my pain!
BTW thanks for quoting me in Red magazine of August, it was an interesting (and mildly shocking) experience to find myself quoted on a national mag.
Keep up the good work!
Ciao,
Caterina
