Tip 102 - Use chopsticks

An entire book has been written to explain quite how chopsticks can help with weight loss. The bottom line is that eating fiddly food, slowly, will (hold on to you hat, this’ll blow your mind) cause you to eat less. You may also find yourself indulging in Asian cuisine, which as a general rule features fewer cream-sauces, less meat and not quite so much pizza as a typical Western diet. On the whole, if you have mastered the technique and don’t spend too long chasing chilli squid around a willow-pattern bowl, chopsticks make for pretty eating - far prettier, for example, then shovelling food in with a tablespoon. I am, therefore, all for this idea. How about using only chopsticks once a week? Yes, even for breakfast (I have tried it with an omelette, and it’s a great success. Not so effective with Rice Krispies…)
