Record passenger numbers take the slow train again

Passenger numbers on small rural rail routes have rocketed in the past few years, with the top ten branch lines recording an increase of nearly 50%, according to latest figures from the Association of Train Operating Companies. This is due to more of us taking our hols at home in the UK. Hurrah!
