On the slow train, time does not interfere...
23 February 2011
With my new book 'On the Slow Train Again' due out on April 7, I roadtested today what must be the best value slow train journey in Britain - Liverpool to London and back for a tenner. True, the journey takes more than five hours each way. But the London Midland trains are clean and modern and our green and pleasant land, starting to take on the mantle of early spring, could not have looked lovelier. As Bob Dylan famously said: 'On the slow train, time does not interfere.' http://amzn.to/hV7S8v
