On the Slow Train in WW2
04 November 2011
I'm just starting my first interviews with the marvellous people – mostly over 80 – who have been in touch to describe their experiences working for the railways during World War Two for my new book How Britain's Railways Won the War. They are heroes just as much as those who worked in the military. Unsung maybe, but with just as important a role in keeping Britain going. Do you know any other such people? Do ask them to get in touch. Either here or by dropping me a line at the School of Journalism, University of Central Lancashire, Preston PR1 2HE. I'll reply to everyone who writes.
