On the Slow Train Again, the BBC - and the risk of a Beeching axe on local media
08 April 2011
With my new book On the Slow Train Again published today, I've been on a delightful tour of interviews with BBC local radio stations and regional newspapers across the land. Both are desperately under threat, both from BBC cuts and from a commercial world that has not yet found a way of monetising the printed local press. It happened during the Beeching era to the railways, which I desperately lament in my books. Please don't let it happen again!
