The Oreint Express arrives at Victoria behind No. 71000 'Duke of Gloucester'

My chapter in On the Slow Train Again about the Orient Express's 'day-off' - taking an excursion along some delightful rail byways in the British countryside - seems to have caught readers' imaginations, and I'm shortly off to do a book-signing for Orient Express passengers, so they can browse on their way to Paris, Venice and Istanbul. There were, thankfully, no murders on the day I travelled – but the sprits of Agatha Christie and Hercule Poirot were very much alive and well...
