Judith writes fiction and poetry, sometimes drawing on the landscape, history and fascinating characters of rural Northamptonshire, where she lives. Her first novel, 'A Mile of River', was shortlisted for the Portico Prize for Literature and was Simon Mayo’s Book of the Month on Radio 5 Live in April 2008.
Her forthcoming novel, 'The Poet's Wife' concerns the family of John Clare: peasant poet, genius and madman.
Short stories have featured in the Bridport Prize Anthology and on Radio 4's 'One to Watch', a showcase for talented up-and-coming writers.
Judith lectures in creative writing for various universities.
