Jason Webster is a leading Anglo-American writer on Spain, author of DUENDE and the crime novel OR THE BULL KILLS YOU.
Born near San Francisco in 1970, he grew up in England and Germany. After studying Arabic and Islamic History at Oxford University, and living for several years in Italy and Egypt, he moved to Spain, where he lives with his wife, a flamenco dancer, on a mountain farm north of Valencia. He is the author of four books, including the critically acclaimed Duende, about his search for flamenco. Sacred Sierra: A Year on a Spanish Mountain, tells of his experiences on his farm planting truffle trees and exploring the traditions and ancient culture of a largely undiscovered corner of Spain.
In February 2011 the first of his Valencia-based crime novels OR THE BULL KILLS YOU is published by Chatto & Windus.
