Hi Fred,
I agree with you about not blaming poor nations' demographics. But what about USA fertility, 3 million "natural increase" last year?
Also a spanner in projections based on national aggregate data are natalist subpopulations, I refer to US Christian Fundamentalists and Mormons, etc. Have you seen Eric Kaufmann's (Reader in Politics at Birkbeck College) book "Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?" (2010)
