Craig Simpson: Profile & Bibiography

Craig Simpson

Born in the New Forest in 1962, Craig Simpson trained as a scientist and spent many years working on the development of new medicines. About ten years ago he ditched the rat race to write. His first book, Resistance, an epic tale of survival of two brothers on the run from the Nazis in occupied Norway, was published in 2007 to great reviews and was long-listed for the Branford Boase Award.

Subsequently, Craig has writted four books in his Special Operations series, inspired by the amazing true stories of the spies and secret agents of WWII who were members of the SOE. The first in the series, Dogfight, gained rave reviews, won the 2009 Hampshire Book Award, and was short-listed for the Lancashire Book Award among others.

The series is well underway now, with four titles, the latest, Dead or Alive, having just been published.

Craig has also branched out from a WWII setting, to write four short books for Franklin Watts following the dangerous missions of his new hero, Major Nathan Connor, US Special Forces, set in Afghanistan. The series, Task Force Delta comprises four titles initially, the first two, Rogue Predator and Hostage Crisis being published in June 2012, and titles three and four coming out in September. Craig's books are suitable for readers aged about 9+ (although many adults love reading his books too)
